Windows 7 – गवाक्षाणि ७

It was a warm summer evening...
Nothin spl... Me, Siddharth n Bharadwaaj were jus havin some vetti talk... :)
As usual, our favorite topics like mythology, culture, linguistics n other topics were goin on... especially Sanskrit was the topic of discussion then...
We accidentally came across the word Windows and I dont remember who gave the idea of having Windows OS in Sanskrit...!
Sounded initially funny, but we came across several interesting terms in Sanskrit, as we are all eminent poets in the same ;)
Not exactly, but we have some significant knowledge in Sanskrit... :)
We started giving terms like:
मम संघटक: - My Computer
धूळि पेटिका  - Recycle Bin
आनन पुस्तकं - Facebook, etc. :)

It was fun coining terms in the most ancient language for the most modern technologies...! :)

I think Sanskrit is the mother of all languages (so do many) and although its difficult sometimes, sometimes its fun…! :) And I’ve (we’ve) loved Sanskrit and we all will. The thing is, its easy to make up words (like compound/additive words), but I wonder why it hasn’t added many, despite the grammar supporting it…!

Well, this is all we’ve done tyrin to Sanskritize Windows 7… Have a look… :)

sanchika – file, sangraha: – collection (since folder is just a collection of files – The sanskrit way of creating words ;) )

Password - गुह्यवार्ता (Guhya vaarthaa)

guhya – secret, vaarthaa - word

Download – अधरागमणम (adharaagamanam)

Share Am terribly disappointed. For a lot of reasons. But the most, by one. "A man's value/influence on this society is determined by the no. of heads that mourn on this death" , it's said. A legend has just passed away. Not less than a week ago. And what have done other than FB status msgs, Twitter taggings, a few +1's and by some stone agers' Orkut scraps...? Belur & Halebidu - II

So we came out of the Hoysaleshwara Temple Complex  and  proceeded to the nearby Jain Temples. There was a single complex with huge shrines for 3 deities: Aadhinatha , Paarshvanatha & Shaanthanatha . And as with most other ancient temples, there were intricate sculptures all over, not wasting an inch. There was HUGE statue of a Thirthankara, must be one of the 3 I had mentioned earlier, but don't know who. Made of a SINGLE rock, he looks magnificent, with a serpentine holding his back and serving as an umbreall. And there's a signature smile - which is the best of anything you'd come by. And another one, again, forgot who - was just standing there, with nothing adorning him. Nirvana, perhaps. But philosophy aside, I loved the hairstyle! I'm even sporting a similar one now! ;) A *slightly* revamped version of the last one. Just for a wallpaper with a dark background. Well, with the Shiva temple right next to this comple...
