Let me talk something serious now... (at least for now)
And the topic is an ancient one.
Yes. Religion.

What is a religion?
Well, Wikipedia says:
"A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs"

Fine. Religion defined.

Whats the main thing in a religion?
I ever wonder if such a thing exists.

God is just a concept.
A phenomenon.
A feeling.

Ok! All that is fine.
But today? Things we see are entirely different.

God is a source of excuse.
A reason for violence.
A root for superstition.
And most importantly, a name for terrorism...!

So whats the use of a religion?
Peace? Enlightenment? Salvation? etc etc???

Absolutely not!

Rather, religions result only in stupid and anti-social things like:
Violence. Riots. Destruction. Terrorism. etc etc.....!

So, y r…

A friend in need...

I've often wondered at this proverb:
A friend in need is a friend indeed. Why should it be so?
A friend is a friend even if u dont need or want him/her...
And even if u neglect him/her, he/she should not neglect u...!
Like, u must have an agreement kinda thing between u...
An agreement.
A deed.
A friend in need is a friend in DEED.Hope u get my point... :)

I came across this திருக்குறள் (Thirukkural) recently-

இன்னாசெய் தாரை ஒறுத்தல் அவர்நாண
நன்னயஞ் செய்து விடல்.

If someone does any harm to you,
put them in shame by doing them something good.
But i'm actually not a person that good n all...
And its extremely normal for a normal human being to hit back or
take a revenge immediately or even sometime later...

So, i jus thought of giving an alternative version-

இன்னாசெய் தாரை ஒறுத்தல் அவர்காண
இன்னொன்று செய்து விடல்.

If someone does any harm to you,
you do one when they are still watching.Hope Mr. Thiruvalluavar or any of his fans doesn't mind...! :)

The "idly" philosophy

2 days back, i was having lunch wit my mom n she was sayin,
"im not gonna cook for dinner. jus some idlies from a hotel"

instantly i got a mokka thathuvam (philosophy)
"இட்லி-யா இருந்தாலும் இட்டு துன்னு,
இட்டாந்து துன்னாதே..."

amma started beating me...! :)

Mind your thoughts

Thoughts arise in mind...
But the concept of mind is just a thought...!

Isn't it? :)

Sitting vetti(jobless) at home during my semester hols last year, i started writin something on a paper that was just lying on my table.
I still wonder how this came into my mind and i instantly wrote them down...
Within some 4-5 minutes!!!
I was very much impressed by myself. I still am...! :)

Cute, Smiling & Close-to-heart

Today, i had an excellent, cute, close-to-heart conversation with a close-to-heart friend of mine... :)
For the next few moments, i was blushing inside, as i couldn't do it outside bcoz of the other ppl present n the canteen...

I had made a gift for my friend for her b'day 3 days back...
I wished her exactly at 12 & i could feel from her voice that she was happy for that :)
And then i made her a gift out of the things i already had, and it took me more than 3-4 hrs to make it n i slept by 4! The next day, i.e. on her b'day i had to leav for coll by 7 for a training programme for 3 days. Though i had taken the gift to coll, i couldn't meet her n give it to her...! :(
The next day, i could meet her, but only after meeting her, i realised i forgot to bring it to coll...! :(

On the last day, i prayed i could meet her.
Finally, i could meet her by 1.25 in the canteen n she was n a hurry to meet the dean. I gave her the gift n i couldn't see her stop smiling for th…
